What are the analytical payoffs of Margaret Archer’s realist social theory?

A few notes for a much longer project:

• Opening black boxes to look at how elements vary independently, rather than assuming that, say, cultural and structural change are always concurrent
• Avoiding an oversocialised or undersocialised account of the human subject
• Insisting on recognising the diversity of elements which enter into an adequate social explanation*
• Multiscalar thinking crossing micro, meso and macro which insists on the irreducibility of each scale
