There’s a lovely section in this interview about the jouissance accessible through the alt-position; in setting oneself up a critic of the ‘mainstream media’ there is a sense of dissidence which plays out in the terrain of information warfare, cutting through the thickets of the ‘dominant narrative’ in order to draw the connections which ‘they’ don’t want you to see. It’s a useful attempt to account for how the invocation to ‘do your research’ which emerged with QAnon is spreading as a broader orientation, reflecting the challenges of living in a hyper-abundant information environment where there always connections which can be inferred.
