One Day Seminar
Qualitative Approaches to Happiness and Wellbeing Research
Wednesday 12th November 2014, 10.30am – 3.30pm
Venue: Northumbria University, Newcastle Upon Tyne
This study group event will examine the advantages and challenges of conducting qualitative research into happiness and wellbeing. We welcome papers from researchers (established and postgraduate students) in any field that have employed qualitative methods who may wish to discuss substantive research findings or the theoretical and methodological challenges they have faced, and may include issues such as:
• Biographical, life history and narrative research
• Ethnographic approaches: interviewing and observational techniques
• Participative research
• Action research into wellbeing
• Methodological challenges: fieldwork, analysis, writing up and dissemination
Abstract submission deadline: Friday 5th September 2014
Registration: BSA members £10; Non-members £15. Lunch is provided.
