So someone actually made the perfect writing software….

It’s called Ulysses III and it is an exquisite piece of software. It combines my favourite bits of Scrivener with iA Writer. I’ll write properly about it later in the week when I have more time. I’m too busy writing in Ulysses to blog. It’s an absolute pleasure to use:

I feel the need to add that ‘perfect’ software can obviously only be such relative to the uses you wish to make of it. In my case I want an immersive environment for writing, one which gets out of the way, while still making it impossible for me to make a mess. I’ve tended to use iA Writer for writing and Scrivener for organising my writing. Sometimes I’ve used Google Docs to combine the two functions. But after a few days of Ulysses III I have the same certainty I did with Omnifocus that I’ll be using this software for a long time.
