Even frontier models give wrong answers to financial questions more than half the time

I hope a lot of people see this research reported in the FT. The FCA did consumer research which found that “1 in 5 UK adults are already open to AI making decisions forthem, with demand strongest where choices feel complex or high-stakes, particularly debt advice, pensions and investments” while “26% trust
general-purpose tools such as ChatGPT, Claude or Gemini for financial advice”. This is a big problem which could have some really significant impacts.
