With social distancing likely to be the ‘new normal’, confidence and competence in using social media tools for professional purposes is more important than it has ever been. In this month-long, online boot camp, we explore what this new working environment means for current Techne doctoral researchers, and offer training in the skills needed to develop an online identity, network professionally and collaborate creatively in this mediated environment.
The boot camp will take place between September 7th and October 2nd 2020. There will be a two-hours long session per week (4 in total), at the same time each week; and participants will be asked to complete some reading plus a 30-minutes assignment between each session. We will be using Zoom for the synchronous session, plus WordPress for the asynchronous work. The synchronous, online sessions will take place between 10 am and 12 noon, on Mondays, September 7th, 14th, 21st and 28th.
